CANCELLATION POLICY AND MISSED APPOINTMENT FEES

We understand that at times you may be unable to attend an appointment. Unfortunately, missed appointments reduce the ability of appointments for people who may be urgently seeking medical attention.

 

You can enrol in our practice reminder system whereby an SMS Text Message will be sent to your mobile phone confirming the time and date of your appointment one day prior.

 

Calling and cancelling your appointment with at least 2 hours notice is required by your Doctor. If you are unable to attend. 

Patients who arrive after their appointment time has passed have missed their appointment. Please call if you are arriving late or need to reschedule the appointment to avoid charge. Late arrivals will not received a student discount. 

 

If you fail to attend a Booked Appointment with your G.P. without a valid urgent reason you will be charged a Missed Appointment fee of $35, which must be paid before rebooking a further appointment.

HOW TO AVOID MISSED APPOINTMENT FEES

  • Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment to ensure you are able to complete the COVID QR questionnaire and that you are ready at your appointment time. 90% OF OUR APPOINTMENTS COMMENCE EXACTLY AT THE APPOINTMENT TIME.

  • If your appointment is a telephone appointment please be available and waiting for the call at least 5 minutes before the appointment time. Please be in a quiet private space where you can concentrate on the call. (Avoid tram/train/workplace/eating). The Doctor will call 4 times and if you do not answer the appointment is missed - and will incur a missed appointment fee.

  • If you do not arrive on time for your appointment you have missed your appointment and will need to re book. We will not make other patients wait for you.

  • Student discount ONLY applies if the student arrives on time for the appointment. If not, the full fee applies.

  • If you cannot make it to your appointment we need to be informed at least 2 hours prior to the appointment time. If not a missed appointment fee will apply.  

  • If you have any symptoms of COVID - runny nose, fever, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath - please contact reception and DO NOT come to the clinic. We will organise a telephone review with the Doctor as soon as possible.

  • missed appt fees must be paid prior to rescheduling your appointment.
